Rubberised Hair

Because of the open nature of Rubberised Hair, it is used as a filter medium in various specialist applications where some degree of resilience or heat resistance is required. The raw materials are obtained from natural renewable resources and are therefore biodegradable and environmentally friendly.

Flat sheets of Rubberised Hair can be used as a vertical filter behind the water curtain in Paint Spray Booths or as a disposable filter screen in the re-circulation system.

Alternatively, the sheets can be cut into segments for use as a filter in heat exchangers, or as a "coarse" filter in general air conditioning units. We can fabricate or mould the Rubberised Hair into cylinders for use in air compressors or for use as vehicular air intake filters.

Heavy density Rubberised Hair is used in the commercial production of nitrogen and other gases. Sheets of Rubberised Hair are put between layers of pumice to form a sandwich; the Rubberised Hair then acts as a filter and separating barrier, allowing the gases to circulate.

Rubberised Coir and Haircolok

The applications for Rubberised Coir and Haircolok are similar to those of Rubberised Hair above. They would normally be used where a where a cost reduction is required.

Cylindrical filters are available for use as a disposable liner for the inside of grease traps. These are used to remove fats, ketchup etc. mainly in the food preparation industry.

Rubberised Coir can also used as an anchoring medium for the digestive bacteria used in sewage treatment plants and slurry tanks.

Loose Hair or Coir Fibre

Loose Hair or Coir fibre is used in certain applications where a loose filtration material is required, e.g. in confined or awkward positions. It is often used in "box filters" for marine applications.
