Needled coir fibre comes from the husk of the coconut that is processed, spun into ropes to form a "curl" and then needled onto hessian or a non-woven fabric (e.g. Spunbond) backing.
Needled coir is a filling material, used mainly in the manufacture of beds or futons. Needled coir would be used as an alternative to the more traditional horsehair, where a natural filling material is required, but at a lower cost.
Standard Sizes: ENKEV's needled coir fibre is normally supplied at 2 metres wide, in either 15, 20 or 25 metre long rolls. Alternatively, pads can be cut to the customers individual requirements.
Standard Weights: Normally supplied at 1000, 1200, or 1350 Gms per metre square, but also available in other weights if required.
Backing: Normally on hessian or Spunbond.
Needled hair products can be made from various types, grades, and mixes of hair including cashmere, white cattle, horse, hog, or the standard 80/20 hair mix. As with needled coir fibre, it is usually used as a filling material, mainly in the production of better quality beds.
